Most of us have heard of it. FOMO, or the fear of missing out, is a phenomenon that’s thriving in our culture. A relentless task master, it drives us to constantly check our social media feed because we want to be in the know. Better yet, we just can’t afford to miss out on what’s happening. It sucks our time as we satisfy our seemingly endless curiosities about the status of others—who’s doing what, with whom, and, of course, where. For many, the start of a new day begins with the habitual reach for the mobile device in order to catch what’s happening, or heaven forbid, what was missed while away. Then as though it were a duty, we continually check our news feed throughout the day. The truth of the matter, however, is that many of us have no clue that we’re addicted to this silent thief and invisible drug. [Read More]
Clutter…. I don’t like it. But you’d never know judging from the current upheaval in my bedroom. There’s a mountain of mail on the desk, file folders to be put away, and non-urgent letters and junk mail by the nightstand that need to be sorted through. Oh, did I mention the random assortment of items on the floor that are clumsily out of place? Sad to say the kitchen, guest room, and basement are in a similar state. And a laundry list of things that need to be done in and around the house has not been touched for going on ten months now. [Read More]
You might be praying for a breakthrough.
Begging God to answer your prayer.
Desperate for God to open that door of opportunity for you to walk through.
Yet nothing seems to be happening. You wonder, Has God not heard my prayer? If He has, why won’t He answer? Frustrated, maybe even angry, you conclude that God is absent when you need Him most. But could it be that the reason has nothing to do with your assumption that God has seemingly forgotten you? Might it just be that God’s blessings are eluding you because of you? [Read More]
This is a powerful song! It beautifully declares the redemptive names of our GOD. My spirit, my mind, my heart, my soul…indeed my inmost being overflows with praise to my Creator and Father, my Savior and Redeemer, my Counselor and ever-present Help… A billion times and for all eternity, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!!

“You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14).
How often do you think about the music of your life coming to an end? It’s

Beware of the innate tendency to prejudge and have preconceived notions. Otherwise, you just might miss the proverbial “diamond in the rough” that could have huge ramifications for your life.
Recently, our family made the decision to visit another church whenever there’s a fifth Sunday in the month. This past April, we visited a local church that several of our friends attend. Intended for its members, the pastor was addressing some “housekeeping” matters this particular Sunday. He began his sermon with, “My message today focuses on the state of our church.” Settling into my chair, I mumbled quietly to myself, “State of the church? We sure picked the wrong Sunday to visit this church!” Or, so I thought…. [Read More]

God’s Eternal Ink By: Craig F. Pitts
I dreamed I was in heaven
Where an angel kept God’s book.
He was writing so intently
I just had to take a look.
It was not, at first, his writing
That made me stop and think
But the fluid in the bottle
That was marked eternal ink.
This ink was most amazing,
Dark black upon his blotter
But as it touched the parchment
It became as clear as water. [Read More]
Considering that the book I’ve recently authored is about living our lives for what really matters…I couldn’t help but be excited when — by GOD’s providence — I “happened’ to stumble upon the video below. It inspired me and I hope it inspires you too!
The ONE That Really Matters (Michael W. Smith feat. Kari Jobe)
